Title:
Doppler Effects Without Equations

Abstract:
I will present a new signal processing technique that models sound propagation in virtual environments. The technique employs a heuristic that is computationally inexpensive, asymptotically correct, and subjectively convincing, and it is easily generalized to curved (i.e., spherical or hyperbolic) spaces.  The talk will cover the mathematical background of the technique, demonstrations, and some open questions.  It will require no background beyond basic calculus.

Date: November 24
Location: NAC 6275
Time: 12:30 pm

This presentation will take place at the VisorLab, an Imax like lab for mathematics http://math.sci.ccny.cuny.edu/pages?name=VisorLab

This event will be limited to the first twenty people who reply to this post as the facility can only hold 20 people at a time.
